Weekend Getaway… highly recommended!

Occasionally, my husband and I love to take off to the Smoky Mountains (Tennessee) for a long weekend… but we usually wait for the fall or winter.

However, this year, my brother treated my family to a weekend (Father’s Day) in Gatlinburg, Tennessee (part of the Smokies) at this awesome lodge called…

The Lodge at Buckberry Creek.

(This is a pic of the lounge/check in/ restaurant from THEIR website… all of my photos of the main lodge had family in it.)

Has anybody been there?

We thought it was beautiful!!

The view of Mt. LeConte is spectacular!

It was so peaceful and relaxing at this place!

Here’s a pic of the backside of the rooms.

This is the view from the side of the main lodge/restaurant…  they have seating on the balcony where you can eat and take in the scenery at the same time.

Isn’t this the coolest bench??

The suites at the lodge itself were beautifully decorated with rustic decor (very “cabinesque”).  The furniture had such creative touches and trim.

This is a shutter that opened from over the jetted tub into the bedroom.  I loved it! So cool!

Another enjoyable part of the lodge is a pavilion and sitting area down by “the crick” (the creek) that is not on the main property.

All my pictures of the pavilion had family in it but here is a pic from their website of the pavilion down by the creek.

Now… how do you get there?

On this…

 That was interesting…  But fun!

And last but not least… this is a teepee they have for kids.

I believe they even have storytelling in there.

There’s my “kid”… I mean sweetheart… acting silly!!

And the only thing you need to worry about at this place are these:

This is the only black bear we saw… shew!

All I can say is we had a great weekend at this place and would definitely recommend it as a great place to stay in the Smokies!

  4. Thanks for sharing this lovely post! I'm sure this Iowan will never make the trek to your beautiful mountains, so your tour was a real treat. I'll bet you were in hog heaven (that's what we are in Iowa anyway) with all the awesome & creative touches.

  7. I LOVE Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. It is one of my all time favorite vacation spots. We are in middle TN so we have about a 3 hour drive which isn't bad.

This place looks awesome that you stayed in.
