Some Chalkboard Lo-Down…

Do you use a chalkboard as part of your decor?

I do..

I bought mine at Hobby Lobby last Christmas.

002

It was plain Jane so I decided to dress it up a little with some wood appliqués.

And then I chose a bible scripture that I love and wrote it with  little “fancy” letters on my board.

It hangs here… in the kitchen next to my faux stone wall.

So… are you wondering how I got such a smudge free look?

I’ll tell ya…

Don’t use chalk.

Use liquid chalk markers… like these!

006

I love them!

They are kinda like paint markers that you shake and let the paint soak the tip.

Alot of businesses use the chalk markers to get a more professional sign look to their boards.

They come in all different colors.

We have a chalkboard on the fridge for messages and memos…

and

I think it’s fun to draw cute little pictures with them… especially if I’m leaving a message for the hubby!

005

I bought mine at Hobby Lobby or you can find them on line.

And like I said… they come in all different colors.

I’d like to score some of the earth tone ones… :)

They are easy to clean off/erase with a damp cloth (or you can by specific liquid chalk cleaner) and they don’t leave all that chalk dust floating around.

Great stuff!

 What about you…

Do you use the liquid markers or chalk on your chalkboard?

Thanks For Stopping By!

Gotta Love Spontaneousness...

Can you guess what I'm doing right now?

:)

Did I know that I would be here two days ago?

Uh... no.

Just a spontaneous moment and the next thing I know... I'm doing this!

And I gotta say... I had the best shrimp... E-VUH... for dinner tonight!

I am so blessed with such a wonderful hubby who made this happen!

But... I'll be back...

after I catch some more rays!

Talk soon!

Quintuple Mindedness in Decorating

How do you successfully marry all these styles to live in perfect harmony in one little home?

I’d like to know.

Do you have a different theme in each room?

I have a feeling it wouldn’t look to good in a semi-open floor design.  And how do you pick which room to do what?

LivingRm01

Do you buy different homes and decorate each one in the style you like?

Yes… that would be awesome but I KNOW I don’t have the money for that!

Do you rotate each year and have a different theme each time?

I’m thinking you would have to get new cabinets, furniture and flooring each time… can’t do that… not practical.

Do you go with the style of your home?

I’d have to say mine is traditional.

Do you pick one and forget the others?

I don’t think I can choose.

I LOVE THEM ALL!

BOATHOUSE

And I don’t want to live with just one style.

I want to live in them all!!  :)

Is it greedy to want them all?  Don’t answer that… LOL!

I just can’t figure how to have it all in ONE house.

Apparently… I’m a little bit seaside cottage, urban farmhouse, rustic mountain cabin, contemporary modern, and traditional and I don’t know which one I like the best…

It’s better to be single minded than double minded and here I am quintuple minded!

Maybe I do have to pic just one style.

But… how do you settle on just ONE?

I’d like to know.

Can anyone who loves decorating relate?

End of Summer is Nearing

Fall is in the air my friends!

Can’t believe it…

Colorful trees, fall festivals, football…

LOVE IT!

But as fall approaches… it will be time to say goodbye to the beauty that spring/summer has brought here at our home.

Here are a few colorful pictures of my front yard I want to share.

Nothing fancy… and we usually plant the same kind of flowers every year…  impatiens.

You will see purple heart, variegated grass, petunias and impatiens.

And since the deer decided to eat some of the flowers this year… I will share with you last years pics, as well.
